Selkirk Water Customers:
The Public Notice (PN) below, required by the State, closes out the water quality incident from 2012 with our old well at the boat ramp. That well was replaced that same year. The old well was abandoned and plugged per State guidelines. We have had no water quality issues with either well since 2012.
Important Information About Your Drinking Water
Public Water systems must routinely monitor for drinking water contaminants. SELKIRK WSC, TX1610027 failed to monitor for or meet drinking water standards. The table below lists each violation, the time periods, potential health effects, and associated analytical results (if applicable).

You do not need to boil your water or obtain alternative water supply (e.g. bottle water) at this time. However if you have specific health concerns, consult your doctor.
If you have a severely compromised immune system, have an infant, are pregnant, or are elderly, you may be at increased risk and should seek advice from your health care providers about drinking this water. General guidelines on ways to lessen the risk of drinking water contaminants are available fro EPA’s Safe Drinking Water hotline at 1-800-426-4791.
Corrective Action:
SELKIRK WSC has taken the following actions to return the system to compliance:
Well with violations was replaced in 2012. The old well with the initial violation was abandoned and plugged in 2012. No violations on either of our two current wells since 2012.
