Selkirk Water Supply Corporation update

A message from Ken Savage, SWSC President:

OH HAPPY DAY! We have been operating solely on the new #1 well since Good Friday. We did have to replace both of the old charge pumps. Also, as you may be aware, we have experienced several water leaks lately, mostly on the North end but no major problems. We recently installed some new cut off valves at well #2 and more are planned in the future. These will enable us to isolate different areas of service and hopefully reduce the number of total system shutdowns.

We will now begin planning for upgrading the new well with larger storage and pressure tanks. Just today, I looked at an 8 to 10 year old system that was recently taken out of service by our operators in Sargent. It may be a relatively easy and economic solution to our future needs. It does need some evaluation. Please let me know of any problems or concerns.
