Water Pressure

A message from Selkirk Water Supply Company President Ken Savage:

AEP has uncovered a problem with their transformer at our large well. This is one of the reasons we have been blowing fuses. They are scheduled to replace the transformer tomorrow (Wednesday) morning between 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon. We will be operating on the small well only.

We will have water but the pressure may drop. Please refrain from any water use that is not absolutely necessary, such as watering your yard, until the afternoon. We also are going to need to upgrade the power loop including the fuse panel in the near future. This should only take 2 or 3 hours also. These two actions will, hopefully, put an end to the blown fuse problem. Again, sorry for any inconvenience, but his must be done.

Aug 24 Update:  They ran about an hour behind schedule, but everything went fine. AEP replaced our old 10 KVA transformer with a new 25 KVA one. We are going to watch it awhile before we spend the money to replace the old fuse panel. We are hoping that this fixed our blown fuse problem.
